Avishai Cohen arrived at the studio happy with his trumpet under his arm. A couple of hours before, he had forgotten his faithful companion in the train that was leading him from Huesca to Barcelona. Luckily, it was only a shock that ended in an anecdote to Avishai who could delight us with his virtuosity, together with his trio Triveni. This Israeli musician and composer, already an eminent jazz player, wrapped us in a dreamlike atmosphere with the track “Dark nights, darker days”, from his latest LP “Dark nights”.
Avishai Cohen, who shares his name with the homonymous bass player, brought to The Furious Sessions his contemporary jazz that he keeps enriching with multiple influences. A real pleasure for refined ears.
